What happens in an uncontested divorce court case in Texas?

I go to court on Friday and I know the judge will ask me what evidence do I have. What exactly do I say? I am so nervous, I don't want to screw up. Please somebody help me!!

If you're filing a no fault divorce, then you would most likely use irreconcilable differences or breakdown of the marriage - if this is the case be honest. Tell the judge what happened in the marriage, why its over, etc. If you need to, write it out before hand. This way you won't get as nervous and you will have a "backup" if you forget what to say. Its allowed, they won't think badly of you if you write a few notes...its a nerve racking situation, everyone including the judge understands that.

It's uncontested - you don't need evidence. All you have to do is sign papers.

I didn't even go to court for mine (I'm not in Texas, though) - my ex went and delivered the papers to me. Don't be nervous!!! You won't mess anything up.

Source(s): Most divorces are founded on the no-fault ground of "insupportability" (i.e. incompatibility), which can be granted to either spouse if that spouse feels that the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict in personalities which makes any reasonable expectation of reconciliation impossible. http://www.familylawtex.com/Divorce_FAQS.htm
