ok yeah thanks, i know it could be like he's gone for jobs and other stuff but like if hes just gone on a job thing why would he say hes already home??

I'm not sure, but I think its just about being away from home. The guys in the band probably wrote that while on tour.
Many spouses & moms/dads have to leave sometimes whether it be for a job or military purposes.
Edit* being home could be like a mind state. for the people at home it could be like hes in everything around them, it gives them a sense of comfort.
