WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE NO RESPECT FOR CABIN CREW ANYMORE?

Well said, girl! I know and I feel for you! BA knows but what can they do! I hope that your say will be read by some of those wallies AND that they realise that it's them you're talking to!

I for one have nothing but respect for all cabin crew as I may have to count on one of you guys to save me in the event that an incident may occur. I come from a family who are connected with aviation. Besides my Dad being with the Royal Malaysian Air Force, one cousin is currently a stewardess with Malaysia Airlines and another was ex-stewardess with MH, SQ and CX. One male cousin is a Captain for MH, my brother-in-law is an Aircraft Engineer with Emirates and my ex-husband is also an Aircraft Engineer with BA.

I always pay attention to the pre-flight safety procedures too as my cousins hated passengers who did not give a flying toss (pardon the pun) to the demonstrations - yes you, you know who you are cause the girls and boys of the skies have their eye on you. But in all fairness, some cabin crew do look down on you like you are not fit to be served or smiled at. Maybe that is why some passengers bring their own food on-board for fear of incurring the wrath of cabin crew should they are 'dinged' for a drink or snack when everyone's asleep. After all, we are at your mercy.

Lastly, the best Airlines to fly with are the Asian Carriers without a doubt.

I have never had any complaints about cabin crew but having been delayed several times my complaints have been directed at airport staff. The main complaint is that, despite me paying their wages, I get treated like a third class citizen when enquiring about the delays. They lie to you and fob you off with all sorts of stories instead of just telling the truth and this is what gets me, and others, annoyed.

Edit. Ah we have an airport official on board giving a thumbs down, can't take the truth eh!

Some people are just angry some of the time. Say if they've been delayed, flight cancelled or problems like that, They will be in a bad mood, or drunk.

Although some people are just like that, which is their problem. It comes with the job though. Cleaning toilets, helping people who have no respect, etc.

Some people feel that just because they have paid a lot of money for their ticket, even if it's just economy class, they have a right to demand for service left right centre.

They take advantage of the drinks, food and any additional service they can get. And they lug all they can on board because they don't want to pay for excess baggage.

Some who take budget airlines are also deluded into thinking that they are still flying a regular carrier. They try to sneak their own food onboard to avoid paying for refreshments and then become all indignant when they are caught.

So, after reading your little rant, I only have one question.......

When are you going to move on to a job that you really LIKE ?

Be glad that you are not a Paramedic, working in the rain or snow, dealing with people who are REALLY dying, and who are depending on you to save their life.

Or how about being a bomb disposal tech, whose next call out could be their last one ?

How about being a little less of a complainer, and stop and think how nice your job is, compared to some other people's ?
