Did getting rid of Bush improve gas prices?

It seems that the price of gas came under control as soon as it was clear that the Bush administration (and Cheney's evil oil empire) was over and that Obama was sure to win. Do you think these things are relalted?

I read this article and thought there might be a relationship. http://www.financialpost.com/most-popular/story.ht...

Gas was overly high due to it being manipulated by big business and Reps to make more money...it came down because they got caught. But it should come down more, but oil co's are trying to make bigger profits.

And to all those yapping about Obama and Clinton having oil in thier portfolio, so does 90% of those who invest.

    ?????

Bush's second term ended. He couldn't be president any more -- it's not a case of someone having gotten rid of him.

Gas went up, drastically; people cut way down on driving; then the economy tanked, and people cut back even more. There are reasons, that have nothing to do with who sites in the Oval Office, for gas prices.

I'll Bush bash with you any day of the week, and twice on Sundays, but in this case, you're off -- unnecessary, given the innumerable legitimate reasons to bash Bush.

Just wait for all your hand outs..... a VAT (Value added Tax) is an Obama favorite to pay for all your programs...so expect the Federal goverment (To tax like Europe) soon...

Also supply and Demand is responsible for gas prices...keep skipping that public school...it shows

Gas prices were already starting to drop by the time the market meltdown began in September and October--lasting up right up till today.

The bubble burst and now we are seeing a stabilization in both gas and oil prices.

Ha, you are sooo naive. Just wait, the Obama is going to be jacking up the price of gas so much you won't believe it. You are going to be paying more for gas, electricity, food, internet... you just wait, all done in the loving name of saving the environment... let's see how much you love the messiah when you have even less money than you do now.

    NOBAMA!

No...the fact that we curtailed the Iraqi problems made the price of oil go down ergo making the gasoline prices fall. Of course the Liberals will try to take all the credit for that too.

No. Gas prices came down as the Bush recession picked up steam. I guess there are some benefits to Republican policies. They also came down when the Democratic congress started investigating reports of price gauging by oil speculators.

Isn't the price of gas still about double what it was when Bush took office?

To his credit, Bush finally stopped diverting supplies into the Strategic petroleum reserve when prices were at an all-time high (which he resisted for months, not having a basic understanding of supply-and demand, or much of anything else).

The subsequent increase in supply, along with the economic slowdown brought prices down.
