Are there any risks associated with experimenting with out of body experiences?

I am interested with experimenting with out of body experiences, but concerned about any risks that may be present when dealing with these techniques. Has anyone had any adverse effects with OBE's or know ways to approach this responsibly.

Well, it looks as if you already have one or two fairly good answers. however, lets plain talk... leaving out the angels and the rest.

If you do not have a stable personality, then you could run the risk of having some emotional problems with the concepts. Are little green men going to get you? No.

It Appears to me that the best place to get information is from Robert Monroe's books on out of body experiences or go to his website listed below.

    Enjoy.

I have had success with OBEs, and so I have a few pointers for you.

Firstly, you can achieve OBE through practice and meditation. Don't be fooled into thinking you need to use any kind of drug, or purchase any special products. Those have their own risks associated and have nothing to do with OBE.

Next, its best to use some personal protection before starting so that you keep your spirit and your body protected when you separate. I recommending callng on your spirit guides and angels to protect you. In addition, white-lighting yourself is also very important. (If you haven't done this before, feel free to email me and I will give you some tips)

In general OBE is very safe, there is not too much you need to be worried about . The most common concern would be attracting a negative entity to you, or have one come around your body while you are gone. But the guides and whitelight will take care of that.

In my experience, even if you came across something negative or dangerous while in the OBE, your spirit will automatically be snapped back to your body keeping you protected naturally.

    I hope that helps. :)

If you do the instructions EXACTLY, you can approach OBE's responsibly.

My money is on Reiki Chick; she's pretty dead on [no pun intended]. Although I tend to just do my OBE when it's bed time...can't get any more safe and protected place to be; kill two birds with one stone...body sleeps; I do whatever it is I do when I don't have a body. I *love* to multi-task.

Well I have died before due to a car accident. I will tell you that it was very cold when I came back to my body. I don't know if that helped or not. It felt like I had been dipped in ice.

The biggest risk is you'll actually start believing you're leaving your body. That could lead to delusions and Internet boasting.

Yes, be very careful. The last time I did that I came back as a democrat, every time I see Barack's picture I have this strange urge to drop to my knees and worship. Very disconcerting!
