Boxed pound cake recipe?

I am making a dora birthday cake. You use a boxed cake mix and add 4 eggs and some pudding. The directions say make the boxed cake mix according to the pound cake recipe directions. my box only has the regular cake recipe. How is a pound cake recipe different than a regular one with a boxed cake mix

    Lemon Pound Cake

    1 box yellow cake mix

    2/3 c. salad oil

    4 whole eggs

    1 pkg. lemon Jello

    1/2 c. warm water

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and dust lightly with flour 1 (10") tube cake pan. Dissolve Jello in warm water. Empty cake mix into mixing bowl. Add salad oil and beat two minutes. Add eggs, one at a time beating after each addition. Stir in Jello. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until straw comes out dry. Cool in pan. Dribble topping slowly over top and sides of cake.

You buy a pound cake mix, instead of a regular cake mix. But, you can do the same thing with a regular cake mix, although 4 eggs seems like way too many

This is from the Lady of southern cooking..Paula Deen. Chocolate Pound Cake 3 Cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 5 Tablespoons cocoa 1 Cup (2 sticks) butter, softened. 1/2 Cup vegetable shortening 3 Cups sugar 5 eggs 1 Cup buttermilk 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa and set aside. Using an electric mixer, cream together butter, shortening, and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Add flour and buttermilk alternately to butter mixture, beginning with and ending with flour. Add vanilla and mix well Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 1 3/4 hours, or until cake is done. Remove from oven and allow cake to cool in pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto cake plate and serve. If you are a die-hard chocoholic you may wish to pour a chocolate glaze over the cake or frost with your favorite icing.
