How and where to buy replacement bicycle wheel?
I need to replace my bike's stolen front wheel. The last time I went to a bike shop, they charged me $60 for a wheel. So, I would like to shop around for something cheap this time. My bike is old and the wheel will likely be stolen again.
I wrote down the numbers from my rear wheel (rim): "26x1 50 MR RX-7" Do these numbers make sense? I searched online and craigslist, but didn't find any matches and most of the online shops seem to only sell high-end bicycle wheels or font & rear wheel sets.
I'm surprised no one online specializes in cheap bike wheels since it seems it would be a very common problem.

The reason is quite simple, a cheap wheel would cost too much to ship to make it worthwhile to sell over the net. A wheel requires quite a large box to ship without damaging the wheel, and of course, cheap wheels weigh much more, adding to shipping costs. any 26" mountain bike wheel will fit your bike, I am sure if you look around local shops, you can find something. If the price for the wheel last time included the tire, you paid a very reasonable price.

Wheels don't come with tires, tubes, rim tape, or cassette/freewheel. You have to buy all those things as well. 700 x 32 is tire size, wheels will fit a range of tire sizes there is no 700 x 32 wheel. To find out if you can upgrade to a cassette hub, measure the space between your rear dropouts. If it is 130mm you can use a wheel made for cassette. It would cost a bit more than a freewheel hub. All in all, by the time you buy everything you will have spent most of the $250 you paid for your bike in the first place unless you can find some second hand wheel that are in decent shape

assuming you are in the US you could go get a bolt on wheel thru a Performance bike shop (if you have one near you) for about $28. It is a standard bolt on wheel that I recommend but since you dont say then Im just guessin' here.
