I believe that people should have learned to live within their means and so the bulk of this may have never happened - who buys a home with no downpayment??!! OMG! Now, those who are lucky enough to still have a job should pay off their debts ASAP, live within their means and be grateful for their income. There will still be people that feed money into the system - I don't know too many that can afford to buy a house and have NO mortgage. However, if people live within their means, when the market crashes again (and it will), they will not lose their homes because not only will they not owe 'body parts' for a mortgage but if they have been doing a bit of saving for a 'rainy day' this forward planning can make up for interest rate fluctuation. I am no economist and certainly not raking a load of cash by any means but I have parents and grandparents that have taught me about the hard economic times that they have endured.

I think it depends on where you live. I am in CA and our unemployment rate is over 10%, our state is in financial ruin and no I don't believe it will get better any time soon. I also believe that the new taxes just passed by our governator will cause economic growth and consumer spending to slow even further. And, I do not believe we have seen the bottom of the real estate market yet out here either.

We are in a depression. It will take many, many years to get out of this mess. Also we need to cry out to our creator for forgivesness of our sins and start being thankful for whatever we have and help each other. As much as our new president tries to get us out of this mess, this is a spiritual problem. We have turned away from keeping his commandments, and worship false gods. We need to humble ourselves and pray, seek the creators face YAHWEH and turn from our wicked ways. Then He Yahweh will hear from heaven and heal our land. _ The Bible. Our only way out of this mess is to call upon our creator YAHWEH AND REPENT///
