Rearended before my insurance card arrived no police report, but a cop saw it and filed an incedent report..?
The incedent report merely states 2 car non injury accident with the location and that we were pulling to the side to xchange info. I hadnt recived my geico card yet( Less than a week into Geico ),and didnt have my license ON ME.i He didnt give me his insurance and tried to tell me I'M lucky the cop didnt turn around and come back.....Geico has called him but he hasnt given them info.
So just how assed out im i,with only an incedent report, and 1/2 a witness that just knows i got rearended? rearenders are supposed to be always at fault i heard. I'm just worried how screwed i am without a police report, ive read alot of stories on here about folks that didnt file police reports, and i aint trying to go out like dat!!
i changed to go golfing, and left my wallet in my other pants. Honest mistake. it is "illegal" and a ramification for a 12 dollar ticket which ive paid before. so im not worried about not having CDL on me. He still hasnt got back to me. What next?

Contact your insurance company and give them name of the officer that saw the accident. Also tell them that you have an incident report. If the other guy refuses to pay, then you and your insurance company can sue for the damages and the officer will be made to give a statement. Never trust the other person in a car accident, especially if they are at fault. As for his arrogance of telling you that were lucky, tell him that any ticket you would have got from the officer would have been thrown out in court once you showed the judge your license and proof of insurance. It would not have effected the outcome of the accident anyway. He was still at fault regardless if you had your license or not. He is trying to intimidate you, don't let him.
See if your insurance company will back you on this. If not then get a lawyer and sue him for the damages. You might be able to sue in small claims court. Chances are he has not notified his insurance company of it.
Anytime you get into an accident, do not try to settle it yourself. Some people will try anything to get out of paying for an accident because they know that their premiums will go up. If the officer refuses to write up and accident report then tell him to send another officer that will. They have to write and accident report once it has been determined that an accident took place.

First of all you dont have to wait on your insurance card in the mail. Simply call your geico rep and ask to send you an email attatchment with your insurance card until you recieve your actual copy then print it. When the other driver said that you were lucky that the cop didnt turn around and come back. You stated that Geico called him I assume you got his number Why didnt you have your liscence on you? That is illegal and that is ramification for a ticket. In the begining of your question you stated the incident report merely states 2 car non injury . Did the police come or not. Did the accident happen on a road or highway or at a business parking lot. Yes it makes a difference. Police can only do reports that occur on the highway or public roads. If it happen at a business exchange insurance then leave call your insurance and last but not least make sense next time you tell your story.

I'm guessing he doesn't have insurance. Which ironically can work out somewhat in your favor. It would work to get you car fixed if you have "under-insured motorist" protection. The problem with that, however, is that your insurance company might, just might, raise your rates for having to file and make a claim.

What they said... and for the record, you can request that Geico send you a printable version of your insurance card via e-mail. I did. Had it a couple of hours after starting coverage with them.
