How do I get one of those Top Contributor badges?

What does it all mean?!

Does it get you a free cup of coffee at the local diner? NO!

I believe it is from the amount of consistent activity in a specific category. I had a top contributor badge in Politics, then I went on vacation for three weeks and when I came back it was gone even though I had the same amount of points and same percentage of best answers.

I started on my usual routine of answering a few questions per day and I had it back within a few weeks.

There are two ways answer a considerable amount of questions (high percentage) in a category and get a high percentage level of best answers. But you have to keep this up to keep the TC badge.

Depends on how many questions you answer and get picked best answer on for each category (up to three).

Answer honestly and respectfully and answer based on what you know, it's that simple.

Who cares. If you come here for some gif image, you're here for the wrong reason.

I think it may have something to do with giving up your first born child.
