what is the normal coolant temp for a 2001 chevy cavalier with a 2.2 liter engine.?

    Thermostat controlled temp is 190-195F. Cooling fan won't come on until 220F.

    The only thermostat for this engine from GM is 180F so I'll say normal temperature would be 175 - 185 degrees.

    It will probably reach 220 or more in traffic, before fan comes on.
