Selling accident photography?

Hey, I wanted to know if anyone has heard of selling accident photography? I have police scanners and I listen to them all the time and I hear so many accidents so I could just drive over, park up the street, walk down while staying out of the way of ems or fd, take a couple of pictures and give the people my business card. I wanted to know if anyone does this or ever heard about doing this. I was thinking I would sell them to insurance companies, lawyers, or the media. Also would it be legal to sell them for cash or would I have to start my own company. I would like to hear you in-boot and information to help me get started. Thanks!!!

They are called "Stringers", it already exists, you aren't likely to get into the buisness unless you know someone in already.

Oh and they normally use video rather then still photography, it helps capture the moment better.

Also, there's a T.V. show on TruTV on this, you might want to watch it to see how it's done.

Check out the links I left as sources.

P.S. Insurance companies and lawyers won't be interested in your video or still photos....they rely on police photographers/videographers.
