Is it possible to be educated beyond all usefulness?

Do we over educate people in the western world? Are we just creating a load of depressed people who are far too clever to do the sort of box ticking, procedure following, intelligence insulting jobs that are on offer these days?

Update:

Maybe I should have put it another way and asked if there is a shortage of proper, intelligent jobs for the amount of intelligent, educated people?

imo we are under-educated. We are not taught to think critically and question our govt. Some are under the impression that we live to serve the govt. and imperialist/corporate interests, when it is really the govt. that are supposed to be civil servants.

The media and the promise materialist scheme keeps us complacent.

The kind of depression you have described has everything to do with wage slavery and social alienation.

I believe that with the current educational system, there is no real education, but modification. The playing field is getting more equal. There is not more to learn, but more ways are being opened up to the interpretation.

I also feel that man cannot now do what is being taught. In other words, some of the things being taught are from experimental data and we cannot make a better hammer and nail or grow a better tree and have a different type of wood.

So, yeah some education is useless but there are a lot of people that need to be educated too.

That's a really friggin good question.

The problem is not over-educating I think. People who are so intelligent should try and motivate themselves to do something else, make their own job, move and find something better for themselves.

The problem comes when people aren't independent enough, motivated enough to take that chance to go somewhere new or figure out their own business they can set up. People who get stuck in these situations who are so intelligent, are also too scared for their own good.

    Heck I dunno....good question though!

I don't think that we over educate here. We are all just so screwed up in the heads from years of anti-depressants, stimulants, MSG, caffeine and drinking our water. I think that we have also been so spoiled by the amount of useless jobs that paid well in the 80's and 90's that we feel entitled to not have to work with our hands. This appears to just be our reality. Our economy is based on the service industry now. The secondary working class is gone forever and you can't really blame them for doing such a thing. Those in India will work twice as hard as us for one sixth of the pay.

    Anonymous User94210 has nailed it.

There's more people qualified because the standards have been systematically debauched in the past few decades.

Real thinking skills aren't developed instead the NWO has ensured that they have a system that breeds unthinking, indoctrinated, indebted working drones for their global feudal order.

In answer to part of your question as to whether we over educate people, I would point out that this does not apply to the present british government who are complete educated idiots.

to your original question, its not possible, if your educated you are use , the more your educated the more useful you can be.

There is no such thing as over educated, company's don't want some one that knows to much in case they decide to change there carrier.

Most ppl in the west cant be bothered ticking boxes because its not challenging enough.

No. It's only possible to be too egotistical to accept a job you consider to be beneath you.
