My puppy pees in the house!?
I've had dogs all my life and I have never had as much trouble housebreaking as I have had with my new puppy. He's now 4 months and a male corgi. We started out fine he would only go on the wee wee pads when out the crate. Then he was able to go outside, he would poop and not pee. I would play with him for about half an hour after pooping thinking he was holding it in so as not to go back in the house. Nothing, as soon as we got in the house maybe about 1-2 minutes later he would pee. What am I doing wrong? He cries to go out and poops but has never gone pee outside. Before that he NEVER had an accident so its not that he's associated the house as where to go pee. He's extremely smart but I am getting a little fustrated. Suggestions?

you should leave him outside for a little loner than usuall and let him out on like a normal schedule and then after that put him back in the crate if he stops going in the house he won't have to stay in the crate this usually works

Maybe you should put a pee pad outside. I use the command "go out" for pee and "go finish" for poop, and I set my puppy where I want her to potty and then I clap and give her praises, and then I tell her go finish. I have them go potty first, and then play time so they don't think they go potty and then right back in the house, and in case they really are not done. I swear I feel like I spend the better part of my life trying to outsmart a puppy. The bladder isn't grown until 6-months-old, and around 12-weeks they sometimes stop having accidents, but do no let your guard down this early. It takes my dogs a good 20 to 30 minutes to get everything done, so that sounds right to me. take a chair to sit in to wait him out.

The problem is you have created confusion for the puppy. You allow him & even encourage him to pee in the house by putting out pee pads (and probably praised him when he went on them) but now you expect him to go outside. Pick up the pads - throw them away. Watch your dog closely for signs of needing to pee & bring him outside. Bring him out at least every hour until you figure out how long he can last.

You can buy like a pheromone stick that can be stuck in the grass to encourage your dog to pee there..
please remember to not punish him if he eliminates in the wrong place, he will just get scared and think going to the toilet infront of you is dangerous and will hold it while you are around.. PRAISE him whenever he poops outside so he gets the message that this is good behaviour
good luck!

this is weird, but it worked for my rescued dog...
mop up some of his pee with a paper towel. put the towel outside on the ground where you want him to go. when he smells the bit of towel, praise him a lot! keep bringing him back there when you want him to go pee, and praise him! he'll soon understand that you get happy when he smells pee outside!
also, use a good enzyme cleaner like nature's miracle to clean up where he's peed before.
when you come back in the house, right into the crate he goes. don't even give him the chance to pee on the floor. then a little while later, back out. if he pees when you take him out, then he can play in the house a bit. if he doesn't pee while he's out, back in the crate he goes! he'll soon learn that when he pees outside, he gets to hang out with you!

I would keep him on leash when you go out and not let him off leash till he's done his business and give him treats for going in the right place. keep him on leash attached to you when he's not crated in the house so you can catch him in the act and get him outside right away.
