i have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. i have been trying everything to loose the wait i have gained from this. can a doctor prescribe something?

i have problems with my thyroid too. and i have gained a lot of weight also. i would talk to your doctor again, if you have been diagnosed with this thyroid problem he should have given something to you at that time. i know there is something that they can give you. mine is so bad that i have a hard time swallowing food. so my doctor is sending me to a throat specialist. you should ask your doctor to recommend a throat specialist and he's the one you should talk to. good luck honey

Usually the problem is when general practitioners (family dr) try to treat a disorder such as this. You must go to an endocrinologist, ask your dr to refer you to a good one.
You must be treated and monitored and until they give you enough thyroid hormone to raise your level to normal then you won't lose the weight.

he can he will help you if you get the right doctor some of them are idiots try to find a free clinic and go to real doctor next and get a second opinion
