Why all the Jr. hating?

I'm personally not a part of Jr. nation, but I still want to see the guy succeed, just so everybody will leave him alone. He seems like an awesome down to earth guy and he's not afraid to say when somethings bothering him. I wish he could succeed and shut all the Jr haters up.

Update:

I understand his last name is Earnhardt, but he's not his dad, so just leave leave that out of the conversation.

I think it has to do with how popular he is compared to how successful he is. The race fans who are not part of 'Jr Nation' think he gets too much TV time, the media pays too much attention to him etc...so they basically think that he has all this popularity, but hasn't done anything to deserve it. That makes an easy target for hating.

I am a JR fan and I will admit that it is because of his father. I believe that people are tired of hearing JR< JR< JR all the time because he is not the next big thing like everyone thought he was going to be. I watched him win 2 bush championships in a row and thought he was going to take Nascar sprint cup by storm and he has yet to really do anything exceptional. He is the most popular because of his name and not because of his accomplishments. My hopes were that someday he would be driving the number 3 car but at this point after 9 years with no real results I hope it never happens. 18 wins is better than 90% of the drivers out there but so what. Johnson wins 3 championships in a row and JR is the face of Nascar. That is a real question how can it be?

Just a normal day here at Nascar Yahoo answers. People hate him because they think he should be as good as his daddy was. Jr. does not get the respect he deserves because the fans are different now. They expect him to win because of who his daddy was. Jr. is doing his best and he has never said he was as good as his daddy was, nor will he be.

Wonder if these same people hated Kyle Petty too. He was a bigger disappointment than Jr. is, but he got lots of respect from the fans because of who his daddy is. Jr. does not get that respect because the fans are different now. They expect him to be a 3 time champ already.

I believe it's because he hasn't won a title, or a lot of races. I'm not a hater, but winning championships gets respect from fans not matter if you like them or not. You could reverse the question and say why the Gordan haters? He's won 4 titles, and I know as been called worse things than Jr. has. When he wins a title I believe the hating will drop.

The name, you don't see people ragging on Matt Kenseth in here all the time despite similar numbers to Jr's. If Dale Jr was Joe Smith and put up the stats that he has you would'nt hear this stuff.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is the most popular driver in NASCAR by far, and I would say many more love him than hate him. He is a nice guy and I am neutral on him. In most sports, people love winners and he has not won too many in the last 5 years. That part puzzles me. My favorite driver is Carl Edwards followed by Jeff Gordon. If I hate anyone it is the Busch brothers, especially Kyle.

When someone is really popular, then there are other who don't like that person for that reason. For example, Yankees fans are equal to the number of people that hate the Yankees. People that love American Idol are equal to the number of people that hate American Idol.

  • The only ones doing any Jr. bashing are the ones who aren't ever here...not on a regular basis. Normally the regulars here don't answer hating questions. At least I don't unless its sarcastically.

uneducated people hate, because they haven't the knowledge to solve problems or contribute in a positive way. It's easy to hate, and therefore be mentally lazy.

It's more fun than Gordon bashing
