How can i fix these problems that are the aftermath of reinstalling XP?

When i reinstalled XP on my home PC, i forgot to save the drivers before hand. I knew how to get everything running again, including the internet, but i had different problems, like the screen resolution will never save to what i set it to and resets every time i shutdown, and whenever im online, the window will glitch when i scroll up and down. i assume it has something to do with the video card right? I just dont know what drivers to download from Dell's website to fix this or if there is anything else i can do.

My home PC is a Dell Dimensions 2400 (desktop)

Any help would be great! Thanx in advance

There are 2 ways to fix Your problem, first is easiest.

    1) Go to Dell's website and enter the exact model and serial number on their support site. This will give You the exact hardware and any related drivers in one simple clickable page for dload.

    2) Go to dell's website and let it use it's "detect my system" software to get the tags info for You, and show You the drivers available.

If these don't fix the problem, or provide a multi-step fx like BIOS the video drivers, You can also go to a reputbale website like www.tucows.com, www.donload.com, or www.simtel.org and get a hardware detection program that will identify the "pieces of Your PCs" (say it fast, sounds like broken candies!).

(Anyway) Hopefully You'll b able to find wat You need from Dell's site all in one place though, unless You have some aftermarket upgrades.

    Good Luck!.

You could go to the Dell site, or maybe better, try this:

Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Windows Update.

When @ Microsoft Updates, click the 'Custom' button, not the 'Express'.

This will give you hardware & software (and 'certificate') updates specific to your unit (hence the necessity to allow the 'Active X').

[Express gives Windows operating system updates]

Tip: When your system is behaving itself, do a driver backup to a single CD so you can get to them again.

It gets harder and harder to find them, and many places charge to get them.

    Driver Magician Lite

enables you to backup selected device drivers to a folder or drive of your choice, so that you can re-install them later without the need for your original CD. The program automatically marks non-standard driver (that do not come included with Windows), allowing you to quickly find the drivers that have been added by devices such as printers, web cams etc.

Use the 'identify & back up all drivers' for the first BU; & keep it with your unit.
