Does BMW require less ot the same amount of periodic maintenance as Audi?

Understanding that they are two different machines with different parts. my question is more related to which one would you spend less time maintaining? regardless of the task.

Update:

Hey I was talking maintenance not repairs. When you sell a high performance automobile to a person that lifts the hood and sees a plastic and metal thingy that makes the car go vroom, baby you are going to have repairs.

Both are German. Both are made with an eye towards advanced engineering and precision. Both will require about the same levels of preventative maintenance. The same is also true for M-Benz and Porsche.

Same basic maintenance intervals... However Audis are designed more absurd than BMWs making them more difficult to work on, and causing more problems to go wrong. More Audis have had major vehicle repairs at a lower mileage than BMWs.

Same cost at the Dealer for repairs (BMW offers full maintanance where its actually cheaper to maintain a BMW than a lawnmower)

Besides... Audi is owned by Volkswagen... so why would you pay that much for a dressed up Volkswagen??

Had both and I like the BMW a little more just because when there is a problem with it they know exactly what it is within a few minutes they then replace it and your good to go. At least with me thats how it was but AUDI seemed to take longer deciding what where when how who and what again the problem is ha ha thats at least with me anyways

The Audi in general. BMW's, historically, have been relatively high maintenance and expensive at that.

The newer ones, say 2002 on, I'd have to say there's no distinguishing factors between the two.
