Counter top paint for best water resistance?
I just retiled my kitchen counter with ceramic tile and I'm using wood trim (pine). What's the best paint to use on the trim for best water resistance? Acrylic? Enamel? Urethane? Other? It won't be soaking in water but will be wet-sponged off for cleaning.

If you plan on keeping the wood grain in tact (not painting a solid color over it), use a spar urethane varnish. It's what they use for exposed wooden trim on boats. I would recommend going with a satin finish versus a gloss (gloss is like *really* glossy). If you are truly painting it, I would say to go with an exterior grade house paint. I mean, it stands up to outside weather. I'm sure it will stand up to occasionally wiping it with a damp cloth.

I would use a marine type paint. If it works for boats it should work in the kitchen. Otherwise I would use a epoxy type of paint.
