how do u factorise

(a - 1)z - (a - 1)y

    Both terms have the same element that is (a-1)

    Thus, you take it a-1 out of the equation, you have z -y left

    Since you can't change the question,

    it becomes = (a-1)(z-y).. voila!

    (a - 1)z - (a - 1)y = (a - 1) (z - y)
