Anyone in London? What is the going rate, in pounds, for a meal at a cafe? Rough estimate?

It depends what your looking for, but you can pick up nice sandwiches and paninis for £3-5.

If your looking for a full meal, then I'd suggest finding a pub somewhere to eat, and experience the real british culture. In which you can sometimes pick up a meal deal (start, main, desert, and drinks) for around £20. or perhaps just a main course for around £8.00.

Drinks tend to come in at about £3-4 each when buying in a restaurant, especially alcoholic.

Sandwich in a cafe or gastro pub will cost you £4-7 depending on the place.

A burger meal at the pub chain Wetherspoon's can cost as little as £3.

Pint of beer in London is £3-4.
