I personally loved gears of war 2 online multiplayer but mostly becuase of the HORDE, it's basically a 5 player game where you fight off wave after waves of computer enemies... but it's really fun.
As far as it goes against all the other games I personally loved COD 4 multiplayer and never got tired of it, but I only got to try COD5 but they seem almost the same, it depends on whether you like WW2 shooters or modern day shooter, if you like modern day go with COD4. Halo 3 is fun but if your not a real fan of Halo I wouldn't reccomend it over the other games.
Now Bioshock or FallOut 3... well Bioshock is better in my opinion but I think FallOut 3 is bigger, also Fallout 3 is more of an RPG than a shooter and Bioshock is a full shooter. Bioshock has a real captivating story and characters but Fallout 3 is more of a RPG and as such doesn't have a Grand story in my opinion but then again I never finished FallOut 3, nor did I really want to, but I did finish Bioshock and loved every second of it, played it now over three times.

Oooooh god, they're my 2 favourite games on the 360...
Personally, for value I'd say fallout, the replayability and shear length is huge, along with the RPG elements which I like.
Bioshock though is an amazing 1st person shooter, quite frankly... No collection is complete without both, so buy both IMO lol
But if it's just 1, then I'd have to go with fallout.
In terms of online play -besides- what you've already mentioned, some people like team fortress 2, which is a stand alone game on "the orange box" Which also holds "portal" and the complete half-life 2 series.
The orange box is worth buying even if you don't like team fortress 2, it's often considered the best bargain you can get since it has 5 games in one (however 2 are addons to half-life but feel stand alone themselves at a solid 4 hours or so each)

Bioshock and Fallout 3 are two of my favorite games on the Xbox.
If you are more into RPGS with open-world exploration and dialogue, Fallout is the way to go. It took me about 100 hours to do the main story and every side quest, and there is still more I can do.
Bioshock, while shorter, is a fun and intense ride. It has an amazing story, awesome weapons and enemies and the atmosphere is haunting.
As for shooters, I am not too pleased with anything new right now.
Gears 2 has a much better story than Gears 1, but the online is broken and buggy and almost unplayable. Stear clear until they fix it.

I would definitely suggest Bioshock. It's a great game
Amazing story and setting
Amazing game play
FPS mixed with RPG elements
Awesome weapons and powers
Big daddy fights are very fun
Fallout 3 is a good game but the controls seem kind of stiff and some times the missions can get really annoying. Although VATS is fun in fallout
Overall both are good but I guaranty you'll have more fun with Bioshock
Source(s): I own both of the games and perfer bioshock much more - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

I found Gears one better... Not as realistic, but had better in game play... Depends what you're gonna play the game on... If you gotta good pc, then bioshock i would say... Fallout 3 is really good, but the campaign is shorter... both sick graphics, but i would probably go for bioshock... The others in the halo franchise are really good, but I havent tried COD5 yet, so i wouldnt really know...

Fallout 3.
Gameinformer had it in the top three of almost ALL of their reviewers for all of 2008, that says a lot, they friggin' loved this game.
The amount of content is amazing, I logged about 100 hours into that thing going through as good then evil(Evil is so fun), it's the most open world game I have ever encountered. I couldn't suggest another game stronger than this one, while Bioshock was definitely a great game; Fallout 3 has been *THE* defining game of this generation of systems for me.

BIOSHOCK BIOSHOCK BIOSHOCK i guarantee you will love it story line is amazing and read the reviews it they will back me up also its a lot cheaper as for a shooter i tried hard to like gears 2 but the matchmaking is terrible but my advice is buy the first gears i just recently got back into it and its still an awesome game and a change from the legendary call of duty series.

Get Fallout 3, its more interactive, you can play it more than once because there are so many crossroads in the game. Its a great game. The only down fall is that its a little short, but i think because its a game to play alot.
And about GoW2, its a great game, but only if you think you can continually do the same thing for every level lol
