Is pink eye--pink eye?

Or is their different types of infections to cause pink eye that needs different kind of medication? Or is it just regular ol' pink eye?

Update:

Cool thanks, well my son has this bubbled build up right under/inside his lower part of the eye like right to the corner end of his eye. And its real glossy looking. I want to take him to the doctors but ugh, I practicly LIVE in the doctors office...

Well pink eye (conjunctivitis) can turn the sclera red/pink. Pink eye is usually always accompanied by itching and a white or yellow discharge that will crust around the eye lashes when dried. This crusting/drying of discharge is usually noticeable in the morning when you wake up. I would say that chances are if you don't have the discharge, you may just have blown some blood vessels in your eye. Pink eye is very contagious therefore you should see a doctor to have it checked out regardless.
