guitar solo help please?

hi. i have been asked by my guitar teacher to make up a guitar solo and i just don't get it i cant make up things my brain dose not work like that this is now the 6th week i have been trying to do this for and i have nothing to show.

the backing track it has to be played along to is the a shuffle and the scale i have to use is the a miner pentatonic

    How about a "requiem boogie"?

    Start on a, go up until you get to g, then come back down to c, following the pattern of notes in the first measure shown below. (Follow this pattern in each measure except the very last measure, where you follow it from a to e, break off and go back down to g and follow it up to c, then end on the tonic - the first note of the piece.) (Count each note as an eighth note or syncopate however you want:)

    just play with the back track over and over until you hear something you like. you could even record yourself playing and then play it back. even if its just a little phrase, you can build onto it and turn it into a solo.... good luck

    theres no real way to make a solo, just play what you feel and go from there
