Kentucky Derby trivia question ~~?
Ok for fun, and personal reasons LOL
Which horse won the Kentucky Derby in it's 29th start,
and had 13 starts as a 2 year old at distances under 6 furlongs?
Well, I doubt it is Bubbling Over. His record is only 13: 10-2-1
I have looked for info on Elwood and I can not confirm he is the one either.
Kmm, I am asking to find out. That is how the question was asked. .
I am going through all the winners and have not found any that had a total of 28 starts before the derby or that had at least 13 as a 2 year old.

The only horse I can think of that comes close to answering your question is Old Rosebud. His first win as a two-year-old was the Yucatan takes which he won by six lengths. He went on to start thirteen more times winning eleven times. In May and June of that year he set four track records for five furlongs in a twelve day period.
The thirteen wins was in his two-year-old season.
EDIT AND CORRECTION.
The answer to your question is 1961 Derby and Preakness winner Carry Back. He had 21 starts at 2, and won the Florida Derby and Everglades at 3. Watch his Derby replay, that incredible little brown horse won it closing from 20 lengths back and took the Preakness in a cliffhanger, but lost the Crown (Belmont) to 65-1 Sherluck, running 7th. with a badly swollen ankle.

I dunno :o( I've been looking for this answer for the past 2 hours and I can't say for sure.
It could be Carry Back in 1961. But when you say he had 13 starts under 6 furlongs as a 2 year old, do you mean that's all the starts he had as a 2 year old or could there be more that were over 6 furlongs? Carry Back had 21 starts as a 2 year old... I don't know how many were at which distances.

The Kentucky derby is one of my most favorite subjects i know every winner in and out. The answer would be bubbling over i believe.
