Made a mistake, that I feel guilty about. Help please?
Hi there.
Well, here's the load down.
I have a girlfriend who I really like. Me and her trust each other very much, and I really like her a lot. A few weeks ago, she told me she loved singing, so I said that I could play an instrument, and sing. She said, go ahead, and over the phone.
Only issue is, I cannot sing and it was really awkward.
So, I simply put on a Youtube cover on the computer, and let it play.
She thought I was a wonderful singer, and prasied me. She told me she really loved my voice, and was in love with me.
Only issue is, it wasn't me singing. Earlier she asked me to do it again, and I payed the same tape. Only her father wanted to hear. I played the tape, and he didn't believe me, and told me to sing without the guitar. I used my real voice, and somehow over the phone it sounded similiar. He believed it was me.
It's on thing to tell a little white lie to my girlfriend, which was just to make her happy. But to lie to her father, that's just wrong.
I know that I cannot tell her or her father it wasn't me singing. We trust each other, and her father would really call me a liar. She would never speak to me.
She's a really good friend, and I want to keep her.
How do I deal with this? I feel so guilty for faking this, and I just need some help.
I'm an honest person, but I made a dumb mistake. Please help me.

I am planning to tell her the truth. Her dad, I'm not quite sure if I could handle that. I really love her and feel like I am honest. I probably will tell her the truth. Me & her are cool, so she probably won't mind. Her father on the hand, probably won't handle it well.

Please don't be like my ex-boyfriend, he lied to me for a whole week, lie after lie until we broke up then my best friend tells me something about him that he made her promise not to tell me, seriously honesty is the best thing in a relationship. Of course she'll be mad at first but then she'll get over it because you told her the truth. Come clean and tell her the truth.

If your as honest as you say you are, You already know what you need to do.
"Truth And Time Do Come Together".
Come Clean.
They ARE going to find out, one way or another. It would be better if they hear it from you, instead from someone else.

Get them both together and fess up. Until you do you are always going to have it eating at you, it will drive you nuts. What happens in the future if you are at a get together and they ask you to sing???? Think it hurts now...apologize, tell them you had your head up your ....... and you will never lie to them again....

Just don't bring it up anymore. I would forget about the whole thing, you will have to tell her about the tape though. That was pretty weird.

Just come out and say the truth..
And say you're sorry,it was only because you were trying to impress her and didn't realize it would lead to this.

you need to just tell her you were being stupid, and impulsive and didn't think - better to be dumb than a pathological liar. Just tell her the truth, it's better to do it sooner rather than later.
