announcer have to come on at least 10% louder than the rest of the news and weather? I know this isn't my imagination. I would really like a logical and rational explanation for my observation.

they get excited - some people take sports REALLY serious, i mean sooooo serious - in brazil they actually shoot each other to death because of which soccer team someone is supporting. in europe they riot and burn down buildings for same reason.
