can an employer change your work schedule during a work week without informing you of the change?
i was scheduled to work on sunday from 10 am to 6 pm , when i looked today at my schedule i have noticed that it was changed from 10 am to 5 pm for sunday, our work week schedule starts on wensday and ends on tuesday so i write my work schedule down as soon as it is posted on monday evening or tuesday morning

Yes, if it coincides with the needs of the business/production they can.
If you are in a union you must consult with your union steward/representative.

It depends. If you're unionized, you probably have a clause in the contract that states a certain amount of time is required with notice for the change.
If you're not unionized, check your job's contract/handbook/new-hire-information (if you have any) to see what it says.
Otherwise, they can change your schedule whenever they want. It is a courtesy for them to notify you, but barring something extreme (ex. changing your schedule on your off-day, not telling you, and firing you because you didn't show up), you can't really do anything.
