What are some good party games?

I really like the game taboo. If you have not played it before it is a type of word game. You divide into teams, and then pull a card from the caddy. On the card is a word you have to get your team mates to say. The catch is that there are about 5 words you can not use to get them to guess the correct word. For example, the word is 'confetti' and I can't use paper, scraps, throw, wedding, or celebration. I could say... what do you call the stuff people toss in the air like for new years eve or when you win some kind of sporting event? It is also fun if you have familiarity with the people you are playing with. Say the word is copy machine, you could say what was it that Jerry was cussing at this morning??

Of course there is a timer and a buzzer, as someone from the other team is watching to make sure you don't use one of the forbidden words. Every time I have played this it is a blast, as it is funny some of the things people think of, also when they get flustered and the stuff that comes out of their mouths. And of course..someone always gets obnoxious with the buzzer!!Fun to see who the first person will be. And you can eat snacks and drink while you are playing.

JoJo, I hear the same boring thing all the time, how abut breaking out the cards, a few drinks and nibbles, have a few games of gin, black jack, poker or even 500, make the stakes a nickle or dime max, go as high as a quarter if you like, but do it right, it's a lot of fun, it loosens people up, and at times it loosens tongues a little more also.
