How severely can your mental health affect your physical health?
I know the health websites all say that mental health problems lead to physical health problems and generally make people feel bad, but I wanted to see what people's actual experiences were.

In my case, problems with depression have lead to TMJ syndrome, headaches, tireness, stomach pain and nausea. Also I have developed several skin picking habits, mainly my lips, mouth, and fingers, which sometimes bleed and the skin has become hard and tough in those areas.

Your mental health can affect your physical health, and sometimes quite severely.
I had anxiety disorders for over 13 years, and had lots of physical symptoms particularly bad migraines, and I know of people who have lots of other physical symptoms as a result of their disorder.
It's a good question you ask, if "good" can be used in the context of any mental disorder, but I am sure you know what I mean.

Stress can cause fatigue, irregular sleeping cycles, and is generally bad for your health.
Severe mental problems (i.e. depression) can make you hurt yourself.
So yes, mental health issues can adversely affect your physical health, once it gets to the extreme. It's better to treat it before it gets to that stage.

Yes and no.I used to be depressed i had it for 6 years and i used to exercice allot an was getting into good shape,even though i felt bad mentaly it gave me more determination to at least get fit and i would be in teh back garden most night practicing martial arts.Ok i beat my depression but now im not in the mood as much as i was when i was depressed because i feel good mentaly now i dont want to exercise as much.Good question

Several years ago I suffered with depression that made me feel tired and 'listless gave me headaches and in general I felt like I had been beat with a baseball bat.I am no longer depressed but my work is very stressful and I am always having back and shoulder and neck pains fromtighteningtning of my muscles.

Stress can seriously affect your health, which is why I chill out with weed all the time, I never get ill these days lol

stress can cause heart attacks and such
depression can cause self harm and not caring about pain
when i get down it puts strain on my immune system because i dont sleep much, that in turn gives way to colds, flue, virsus stuff like that
