8 week Yorkie - strange, strange noises?

We recently got a new yorkie pup, 8 weeks old, very healthy, all shots.

Yesterday, we went outside for bathroom break, and he ran over to a mulch area with some plants. I called him and ran after him, and when I got him, he began making the strangest sound - almost like a sneeze, but more like a horse whiny - think high-pitched trumpet - while making the noise, the left side of his face contorted like popeye. We panicked and drove to an animal hospital to be seen. Of course no weird noises while the vet checked him out head to toe - no throat lodges, all vitals normal, plays like usual, eats and sleeps normal. We brought him back home with the vets ok, and when we got home, noises began again.

This morning, he seems to continue having the attacks every so often, not affecting play or eating, but they are really scary. DOES NOT SOUND anything like a reverse sneeze, and doc ruled out CT. Has ANYONE ever seen this before and knows what it is? I am really worried about our poor baby puppy.

Update:

I looked up all types of reverse sneeze examples on You Tube - but ours sounds nothing like them - it doesn't sound like a cough or deep throated noise, mostly a horses neigh is the best comparison - and his chin hits the floor every time. Very small amount of leakage from the nose, nothing else seems strange, but he does it about 6 or 7 times in a row, then nothing for hours.

I would video the 'attack' next time it happens- most cell phones have cameras built in now if you don't have a video camera. Then show the video to the vet. If it isn't a 'reverse sneeze', I don't know what it might be, but actually seeing the attack happen can help your vet to diagnose your puppy. Good luck and I hope they get it figured out!

I will never pay or buy a purebred its just they are money pits that lead to broken hearts...

Why do you have an 8 week old Yorkie? Reputable breeders so NOT send pups home with their new owners until they are at least 12 weeks old. Your health guarantee should allow you to return the dog to the unreputable breeder and get a new pup, or your money back.
