Once again, GAINING MUSCLE WILL NOT SACRIFICE SPEED. Gaining weight will only cause you to lose speed if you gain fat. Im sorry but if you don't believe it than research it, building muscle will make you faster. Agility only has a little to do with mass, it has much more to do with balance and core strength. Gaining muscle will only benefit you. You are worrying for no reason at all, if you want to take your game to the next level, then you should definitely gain muscle. Just letting you know, for your height, your body mass index is way underweight.

Ron Sicat here
A football topic aye? (Soccer)
Before I get started, I don't wanna confuse you because where I'm from we call soccer football. So please bare with me.
I'm 5"8" and 123 pounds back in High School and I was able to play Varsity Football for 4 years. Our Average weight in the team was only 120lb and the average height was 5"7".
For 3 years straight, we went to the Finals and out of those 3 years, we were champions 2 years in a row. But that's just in our league. We won't on to play NCS (North Coast Section) competing against champions from other school leagues in our Northern State Area. We only made it to the Quarterfinals for 3 years and was always eliminated. But it was an honor for us to make it that far. 5 of our players each year becomes what we call here in our area, an All-Empire, which is similar to being called an All-Star.
You see, football is not about muscles like other American based sports of Grid Iron Football or Basketball. Football is about skills and dedication. "If you can control the ball, you can do anything" according to David Beckham's father and this is true. What my high school club lack in muscles and height, we made up in skills and dedication.
A prime example of this is Robinho of Brazil and Manchester City Football Club of the English Premiere League and DaMarcus Beasley of our own United States and Rangers Football Club of the Scottish Clydesdale Premiere League. Both footballers were doubted because they are skinny and seems fragile in the eyes. But look at what they have achieve and where they are now and who they play for. Beasley is loved by supporters of Rangers FC, a very prestigious and highly decorated football club in the world. Robinho is the same. They are skinny but what they lack in muscles, they provide in skills.
If you are able to ask the greats like David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Zlatan, Pele, Beckenbauer, Zidane and so on. They will tell you the same thing I am telling you. Football is a game of skills and passion. Keep that in mind and you'll be fine.
God Bless

you are very under weight for your height. and muscle will only make your speed and agility better not slower. even in soccer you should have muscle to push other players around to gain control of the ball.

Go to the gym and do weights, this will bulk you up (make sure to eat lots of protein) but do 30-45mins fitness before the weights i.e cross trainer and interval training on a treadmill. As someone who plays at a high level of football in England I managed to gain physical strength whilst improving my speed at the same time. Massive changes can be noticed in a month if your committed enough to go 3 times a week to the gym.

! if you gain muscles in your arms, chest, core and back, that will only make you faster! all your body is used when running. just try and concentrate on your form when you run.........you'll get faster if you gain muscles but i dont know how that will affect your agility

in soccer you don't need a lot of muscle, soccer is most about speed ,you need around 35 %muscle and 75%speed.
