Where can I get tahini to make hummus?

I want to make hummus but we don't have any international stores around here. I'm wondering if you all know if some grocery store like Walmart, Kroger or perhaps Whole Foods carry tahini.

Or could you perhaps recommend a substitute for the tahini although I'd rather not go down that routine if possible.

Thanks for your help!

It is actually called Tahini Paste, made from sesame seeds. I get it at a local grocery store in the Ethinic Food section. The store is Ingles.

I love hummus with New York Bagel Chips also from Ingles.

My local Whole Foods markets both carry tahini. I buy mine at the natural foods store, though. It's closer to my home and actually a bit cheaper.

I think Whole Foods would be your best bet. Maybe Kroger, but I doubt Wal-Mart would carry it. Look for it in the ethnic aisle.

Many regular grocery stores have international sections.
