To use my favourite quote from Wayne's World, "It's like Star Trek: The Next Generation. In many ways its superior, but will never be as recognised as the original".

In all honesty, it's a difficult call. When it came out, Killzone deserved a lot more mainstream apraisal than it got. It completely pioneered the gameplay system Killzone 2 is based on. I.E. It goes in the opposite direction from the likes of Halo, Resistance and Call Of Duty, all of which have very static feeling controls. When you move around in Killzone (1 and 2), you get a very weighted feel to the controls and almost a sense of lag. Many people dislike the gameplay because they are either too used the COD style which is extremely responsive or they just don't see the merit of having slightly sluggish controls. Personally I believe they are better in comparison to most other shooters since it is a little more believable.

By that I mean I do find certain aspects of certain games very annoying: Best example - COD4 when someone lands a grenade next a player in a prone position and in the blink of an eye that player can be sprinting away.

To sum up the above, I find Killzone's gameplay to be "more realistic" in terms of how the player moves.

Additionally, Killzone 2 introduces new features which, to my knowledge, were unseen on both the previous Killzone and any other shooter. Specifically, the first person cover system which plays a huge role in the single player campaign. This was sort of accomplished in other games (Rainbow 6 Vegas, Gears of War), but never in first person. 2 other features I love rely on the motion sensor in the PS3 controller. 1st, when interacting with objects like valves, you have to use the R1 and L1 buttons to "grab on" and turn the controller to turn the valve. 2nd, when using the sniper rifle zoomed in, you don't hold the left stick down to hold your breath and steady your aim, your aim is as steady as the controller is. If you shake the controller then your sniper aim is completely thrown all over the place :P

There are heaps of other things I could mention but the list is just too long. All in all Killzone 2 is a great game and it won't disappoint, but personally I prefer Killzone 1 for reasons of nostalgia, since I still like to play it even now :)

Killzone 2 completely blows away its predecessor on the PS2 by a long shot. The graphics are great, the campaign mode is great, and the online is absolutely phenomenal. The mechanics are a little different because the recoil is more evident when you are using a gun. For example, you have to make quick bursts of fire or else the bullets are going to slowly move up the wall from the recoil. There is also a stopping method when you are running when you have to let off the run button to slow down. But these things are easy to get used to and the game play feels great.

You can easily get tons of hours out of online play. I have already logged in about six myself and I'm still nowhere near the highest rank. All in all, this is an amazing game for the PS3 with great online play that you can't miss.

I thought Killzone 1 had better controls after playing the demo but now going back to play Killzone 1 after beating Killzone 2, you never want to go back to Killzone 1.

Playing K2 is like playing COD4 for the first time.

Gameplay is pretty ok decent controls. it maybe hard at first, but you'll eventually get used to it.

    Story Mode was good.

Graphics were pretty ok (there are some things that can be weird). But overall it's beautiful.

The Online/Offlin(bots) is really good cause there are classes that can do cool stuff. Clans and Tournaments are pretty organized.

The letters in the game like subtitles, menu words, etc... are really small (idk cause I have a small TV, but whatever)

Enemies are pretty smart if you as me. Like some of these enemies are kinda like regular players.

Characters cuss often in the story mode.

There are tons of cool weapons to play with.

    Trophies looks easy to get.

Killzone 2 is better than the first one of course.

    Overall it's a 9.5 out of 10

Have fun with that game when you get it.

Most said it above here. It's a bomb game. It is very real. One shot to the head and your dead. Some people don't like this because it's to real. I like it for this reason. To many FPS's I shoot someone in the head like 5 times and they don't die, not here. I feel, in the right room, there is more strategy opportunity here than any other game out there. You can combine classes to suit your gameplay style. It's a great game.

Good game, lagginess in controls. I will continue to play cod4 mostly because of lack of guns, perks, and variety that makes COD4 the best multiplayer experience ever. Ps3 fanboys will deny it because they want KZ2 to be the best, as well as 360 fanboys with Halo. At least everyone has Cod4!

I basically shout "Epic" after every Shotgun or Snipe kill I get.

I get pretty hyper after everything amazing I do in that game.

Sure, there are flaws, and you'll see them blown out of proportion by a bunch of haters, but every game has that.

But, to be honest, it's a great experience.
