ANY1 ELSE out there angry about cigarette prices?? I just paid $7.41 for a pack of marlboros at a Walmart!!?

Seriously? Geez I just paid $6.93 after this last tax increase.. BullSH*T!

Something needs to be done. Their raping us because we choose to smoke? This is America, land of the free and home of the brave....(yea right)

I don't smoke and never have so I cannot say that I feel the "sting" of highly priced cigarettes but, as a health care worker I get the joy of seeing the affects of those cigarettes and that makes me angry more so than any inflated price.

I know it's probably not what you want to hear, but quitting would not only spare you some much valued money in your wallet but would save your life.

Don't take this the wrong way...its truly meant to be helpful.

I'm a smoker and I too pay high price... But most of that cost is taxes. California will be raising the tax on cigarettes April 1 st. So if I don't quite I have to live with the price... Yes states need the revenue, but it will make a lot of people quit and they will not get the money they looking for... Then whats next Beer or soda pop...

Damn! The prices have been raised here where I live too. I paid $4.33 for a pack of Marlboro lights this morning! I think they are going up at least another dollar next month too. Where in the hell do you live that they are that much? I am gonna quit. I will not pay this much.

I never smoked but I remember when my father said if it went higher than a 25 cents a pack, he'll quit. Needless to say, he wouldn't give it up no matter what the price was. My mother also smoked and my sister and I would never date people that smoked. As suggested though, quit if you can and put the extra money away and take a nice vacation.

It's annoying, but makes sense...costs non-smokers more in insurance to help pay for smokers to be treated (and smokers are more likely to have health issues).

It's a sin-tax. Cigs aren't a necessity...just like alcohol I don't care if it gets taxed out the wazoo. I enjoy both of things (cigs and drinking) and am willing to pay for those luxuries as required (for now). Since both can have adverse effects on others, makes sense for them to cost more.

Cigs up around NY area have been MUCH higher than the # you quoted for a very long time. We in other parts of the country have been getting a break. I had a friend that paid close to $12 for a pack on a trip she took to NYC. I wouldn't even smoke occasionally anymore for that price.

We pay for our vices...it's only fair.

Their is not but one God and He is the God of Abraham whatever name you decide to call him He IS God Almighty. Their ain't but one true God. This false doctrine of the trinity is a tool of the devil to get the Muslim's and the Jews to reject the good news of the redeemer Jesus Christ. God resurrected Jesus to heaven. Jesus was indeed in hades for 3 days and then he was raised up to be with the Father in heaven. There he waits until God decides to bust a move on all evil on this planet. That is the plain truth.

Its your life and you can do what you want, but smoking is a waste of money and it is seriously harming you. It doesn't make you think straight for one.

I know someone who smokes, and came into some hard times. Instead of quitting smoking to pay bills and feed his family, he refused and would skip buying food just to make sure he has cigarettes. That makes no sense. Its an expensive habit, and you could be using that money for something else that you want.

I am 48 hours into quitting smoking.

I'll probably gain 20 pounds, get depressed, and beat up my cat.

This is Obamas plan to help pay for healthcare,

That's about £4.00, Marlboro's cost about £5.50 or £6.00 here (I think that's about $10 or $11) in England so it could be worse! Hey you don't have to smoke maybe higher prices will help you cut back and be healthier.
