Should the Quran be handed out openly like this?
I think that its strange that Non-Muslims can get their hands on a Quran so easily. I mean I encourage them to learn about Islam. But they are holding the Holy book of Allah without Wudu. Even the english translations have the holy words of Allah written to the side... How do you feel about this?
Just a side note: I see the username Muhammad on these forums alot and puts a link up leading to a misguided website. I encourage Muslims to report it if you see it. Itll be much easier to take down and people who come here wont be misguided by wrong information.

All religions are open to criticism and rightly so. The creation story and how the knowledge was given to man is just as absurd as the other Abrahamic religions. The fact that your religion practices in death for apostasy is an affront to human rights, intelligence and the moral Zeitgeist outside muslim countries. I doubt you have ever read the full Qu'ran, I'd be willing to bet you've only read a shortened store-bought edition that suits your particular brand of Islam. By the way, capitalising words doesn't make the impact of what you are saying any greater it just appears as though you are yelling at the reader.

Wudu, whenever I have handled the Quran, whether it was a copy withdraw from the library, or an authentic handmade copy from a primarily Muslim nation (I received one while in Kuwait) I try to respect the Muslim ways and perform Wudu to the best of my ability, however I'm not Muslim, so I have not perfected it - I'm only curious.

In Canada, Calgary Alberta to be specific; I have only ever found the Quran with English and Arabic to the side.
I had managed to get a hold of a purely Arabic version and a version where Arabic was centered in the page, but there was English on the side (both were received while I was in Kuwait).
Truely fascinating.
I'm actually Serbian Orthodox, however I find that Islam is a lot more interesting, maybe simply because it's not as common as Christianity in the western world (anyone can get their hands on a Bible over in North America...)

Quran is the only script by which islam can easily understand with the help of hadith. So,Rules are implemented on Muslims, those who are in islam ,that Quran should be touch with Wudu ,etc..
if we think of this rule that no one can't be touch with out Wudu,if a non-muslim perform Wudu, then also he is not done any thing ,as Wudu is for muslim.
But we should see the person to whom we are giving the Holy Book Quran that really he want to know about islam or not.if yes ,,we have to give ......

I agree with the posters who say that, since they are not Muslims, they are not obligated to follow our rules on the Quran. And would also like to point out that, if they convert and realize they were unclean when they handled the Quran before, it doesn't matter, as saying the Shahadah (and meaning it) washes all sins away, you are now as pure as a newborn baby! For about ten seconds, if my case is any example :P

No offense but you want people to convert right? how are they supposed to without really being able to read the Holy book of Islam? If somebody is interested in a religion, I don't think they'd buy the holy book of that religion and ruin it or anything.

I think that you are correct in saying that they hold the Quran without wudu, but if they have no knowledge that what they are doing is wrong then Allah will not count that against them. Inshallah, They find the truth in the Quran that they recieve, and are guided to the truth and light of Islam.

There are copies of English language translations of the meaning of the Holy Qur'an that do not include any of the Arabic language. An example is the one provided by the Book of Signs Foundation at http://www.bookofsigns.org/

Dear Questioner,
Don't you think that the doors are closed enough? How do you expect Non-Muslims to get the message if they have to perform rituals they do not yet understand.I got one of those English translated Qurans it did not have any Arabic to the side. However I treat it like its a sacred text,I am mindful when handling it.But it is not the Quran, the only true Quran is the one in ARABIC.
Its hard enough finding reliable sources of Islamic information as it is,to have to be chastized about WUDU and touching the Quran. These are concepts foreign to non-Muslims or those who simply want to study the faith and find their truth.Allah (GOD) Creator of the universe is an understanding and forgiving God he does not condemn those who are seeking truth. Please open more doors!Don't shut the very few that remain open.

None attain, none grasp...none touch save the purified.
It means none will be able to grasp (understand) it, unless they have pure intentions.
It's a book. It's not important, except for the information it contains. What you're describing is an amulet, talisman, magical artifact.
What use would making wudhu have for non-muslims anyway? Wudhu is preparing for prayer.
This is setting up barriers between them (and us) and the Qur'an.

Our beloved Prophet (pbuh) sent letters to non-Muslim dignitaries inviting them to Islam which contained the words of the Glorious Quran on them, the following might help you with this http://www.ipci.co.za/frameset.asp
