Renting a car in Ireland?

I know that you need to have a license for 2 years previously so my question is how do they check? I just renewed my license so the issue date will be very recent, so should I bring a copy of my driving record, or is it one of those rules that no one ever checks up on?

Mnimum legal age in Ireland to get a driving licence is 18, so if you're 20 or more, it should be fine.

I won't hurt to bring your driving records anyway...

Your driving license has a number on it, and it can be checked through data records.
