Reloading windows xp professional?
I have just formatted my hard drive due to me having a virus and my mind has gone a blank as to what I do next ~ can anyone give me a step by step account of how to reinstall my Operating System?

the easiest way is to put the OS disk in the drive and then shut down the machine keeping the disk in the drive.
turn the pc back on and it will automatically start to load from the disk, then just follow on-screen instructions.

Have u got a Windows XP cd with u .
Then i can give u the best advice ...
Please follow the steps...................
1. Turn on ur PC and press DELETE button on the boot up
2. Now u are in the BIOS ( Basic Input Out put System )
3. Move the highlighting to Advanced bios option , and select to
the boot prefrence option . Noe select the first booting device as
CD ROM . then exit bios , u will be asked for saving to CMOS
Press Y and exit
4. Ur system will be restarted itself , and u will asked a message
Booting from the cd rom .. .. Press any key to continue ...
5. Press any key and then follow the instructions .
6. U will be asked to read the ms aggrement
7. After reading go on s per the instructions
8. U will be asked to set up the partation set it for C drive
9. The specified drive would be formated automatically and windows would be installed .
10. ON ur next boot u will again see the message booting from CD
u needn't to do anything at that time .
11. ur xp is now installed completely .
12 . now restart ur PC , press delete and go to bios , as if uid earlier
select the advanced boot config , then bring the first bootable device
to Harddisk.
13. Everything is over !!!!

Insert the Windows XP CD, reboot the computer, follow the on-screen instructions. If you don't have a Windows XP CD, or restore CD's that would have come with your computer, then there might have been a restore point on your hard drive - which you just formatted so it's gone. Check your computer's manufacture support website for information on how to reorder the CD's.

once you put in the disk and it lots the preliminary setup archives then exhibits you the partitions you will could desire to delete those partitions then format utilising the sluggish ntfs format. do no longer do the fast format.

sometimes the CD wont boot....so you have to press F11 to select what drive to boot first and select boot from cd and then any you go....good luck
