What's better: British Comedy or American Comedy?

I personally think that British Comedy is so much funnier.

Especially our comedians :)

What do you think?

Update:

TOKIO - Russell Brand is only one of MANY comedians from britain. He isn't as talented as other famous names from here!

Judging by the 2 years I lived in England, you guys only see one side of the American humor, and that's usually the cheesy, cheeky, blatent, blunt, type of humor. Such comedians/actors like Jim Carey, Will Ferrel, etc...

If you were to live in America, you'd see that comedy spans accros the board into many different types of comedy.

I noticed British humor tends to be more stuck on irony or smart humor, which for me get's boring sometimes. I like a variety.

If you guys have insult comics, I'd love to see/hear some. They are by far my favorite. People like Andrew Dice Clay, Lisa Lampanelli, etc... They crack me up!

There are comedians/actors I think are hilarious from both sides of the pond to be perfectly honest.

I personally prefer British Comedy. I think that American comedy is much more obvious and crude but British Comedy drier and wittier. However I do think it depends on where you come from because if you brought up in America you are probably going to prefer American humour and vice versa. :) x

I would say American comedy. British theatre beats us cause here in America sophistication is harder to find than a needle in a haystack. Britain is the essence of sophistication and the best in theatre by far. But, there are plenty of great American comedians it is hard to argue against America in this case.

I mean come on Rodney Dangerfield, Chris Farley, Richard Dreyfus, Lewis Black, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Mike Myers, Dave Chappelle, Bill Cosby, Dane Cook, Billy Crystal, Adam Sandler, Eddie Griffin, etc.

Dangerfield, Farley, Carlin, Black, Dreyfus, Crystal = comic legends. You guys have Eddie Izzard I would give you that he is a riot and gave the world Monty Python. But, America gave the world Animal House amongst many other comedic classics and yeah Belucci was also a legend.

British comedy without a doubt, American comedy just doesn't do it for me!
