Are we allowed to ask questions which require an actual answer; as opposed to an opinion?

i've got had considered one of my solutions chosen as a suitable answer on a query that i've got self belief became asked by a individual of an opposing perspective. even nonetheless, that has a tendency to be the exception and not the guideline from what i will tell. As for me, i've got purely asked some questions and that i became in seek of a concrete answer, no longer an opinion, so I chosen the suitable solutions from the responses given.

It is sometimes hard to find them, but that IS the preferred type of question on this site. The 'favorite color' questions are considered chatting and therefore are reportable. Opinion questions are allowed, as long as they don't spill over into chatting, ranting and other areas of violation.

Yes, we are allowed; but that's just my opinion. Maybe we aren't allowed to ask those kinds of questions after all...
