Is it difficult to grow rocket/rocquette for a beginner? Does it need much space?
What time of year would I need to start? What other leaf would compliment it in a salad and grow alongside?

No rocket is easy to grow. You can grow it in a grow bag or window box if you dont have any space, a grow bag will grow about 5 supermarket bag sizes but if you cut it down and dont pull it out by the roots it will grow back again. You can also grow it alongside a mixed leaf selection (any seed shop will have these mixes).
Start it anytime now, its not keen on very hot weather.

No it is very east to grow. Just sow a thin line of seeds in the open soil and wait.
