Why are there so many men questioning feminism in the Gender and Women's Studies Section?
You don't see me in the Lesbian, Gay, and Transgendered section questioning peoples' sexual preferences (btw, I have lots of gay friends, just making a point), so why do they feel that they should come in here and make sexist comments? I mean, it's not like they'll listen to any of the intelligent answers anyways, because they would rather have their women with breasts at least double the size of their brains instead of the reverse.

Because ultimately, men are obsessed with women - it is a weakness that they do not like to admit. Men see feminism as a threat and they dont like it. Shock horror - to think that women might be able to get on in life without men and actually form opinions of their own on things in life!!!!! lololololol Generally speaking, people criticise what they feel threatened by. Its plain and simple INSECURITY...

This is a forum to discuss gender issues, which can include critically analysing feminism. Even if you agree with the basic tenets of feminism, the movement isn't flawless and I think it's fair to say that it's had both positive and negative effects. The people making sexist comments are probably just trolls, I doubt even they believe the things they say. But questioning feminism isn't sexism, it's open discussion, and that's what most of us find interesting. Men are welcome here too, and not just if they support feminism! If someone wanted to go over to LGBT and (respectfully!) question homosexuality, it's fine to do so.

the question should be why are you threatened by this.If you really believe in something you should be able to proudly defend it with logical answers so people can understand you.Instead you whine about the fact that you have to defend it like most of the women that are feminist in here and when you dont prove your point you cry. Personally i love to defend my anti modern feminist views and hope some women will shed light on the fact that i might be wrong about something.

Nice try, feminism is not a lifestyle choice it is a political statement.
Its like saying we should not question communism.
You can not compare apples and oranges.
But I think you just feel the need to point fingers some and dish out blame, knock yourself out.

Most of the intelligent answers here come from the men questioning feminism. Excuse me for living and defending myself against socialism, political correctness, and misandry.
If you want to post at LGBT, be my guest. I'm sure you'll fit right in.

Because it isn't the Feminists Only Club; it's Gender and Women's Studies.

To get a rise out of people. The same as racists who post in the Cultures category or Atheists who post in the Religion category. They like arguing and negative attention. Some actually believe they are going to change someones mind.

Religious people have a problem with atheists in the Religion section too. Maybe feminists find it shocking to have their beliefs questioned forcefully because feminism is like religious fundamentalism in that it falls apart under examination.

Why do feminists view any questioning or discussion of their holy doctrine as an insult or a threat?
