Just laugh at her, if she calls the police for a reason like THAT, SHE can go to jail. As for the dog, just run if that thing gets loose. Run like HELL!

  • Let her call the cops. Honestly.

She has no say whatsoever if you use the sidewalk by her house. It's not her property so you can use it as much as you want. The cops will tell her that as well. And then while the cops are there, let them know about her threat with her german shepard. They'll either give her **** for the threat or possibly even take her dog away.

She has every right to be upset if you keep having balls drop over onto her property. YOU can prevent that from happening, so do so.

On the other hand, if she's threatening to release her dog, what my neighbor did about a former neighbor who threatened the same thing worked wonders. She wrote a letter to the "dog will eat you" neighbor and copied it to the local police department, stating that any further threats about sicking the dog on her or actually letting her dog out would produce a call to the police and a lawsuit. The "dog will eat you" neighbor stopped saying that immediately after getting that letter, because she saw it was copied to the police chief!!

Do what you are supposed to do about your responsibility -- your stuff should not wind up in her yard. BUT, if she keeps yelling when you walk outside but not on her property and threatens to release the dog, write that letter.

Depending on your state privacy laws: I would record just in case she plans to sue or lie to the cops. There's such a thing as being a nuisance yourself when you nit-pick & harass others for freedoms that are theirs also, such as walking on a sidewalk. If you are actually playing on her lot or property, that's something different. That's her private area. You have your own area to play on & you really should try hard to respect her wishes if she doesn't want visitors on her lawn. Can you not avoid her area & try to throw that ball another way? Balls can cause damage to people's property & windows. They do have a right to be leery and want the peace of mind of not having to worry about others balls. =)

Either party could lie to the cops, so just someone's word over another's shouldn't be good enough. There are people on witch hunts when actually it's them. They think it's fun to harrass others & lie. Libel or slander shouldn't be good enough for the cops or a judge for that matter. How do they know that she actually said that & that someone wasn't just being vengeful & wanting her dog taken away? I'm not saying that's what happened here. But I do know that people do complain falsely to the cops or other authorities out of just not liking a person & wanting something to happen to them. ...

I don't know why someone thumbed Mrs. Z down. If someone is sitting on a sidewalk staring someone down, that could be loitering with the intent to intimidate. If you are staring into her private property area, you have no business there doing that. (Paparazzi get away with it... but in the case of just wanting to be a nuisance & intimidate someone, that seems different.) If both of you are in a public place, then one or the other can freely leave...

Sounds like my neighbor moved next to you!! U know what I finally called the cops myself. I got so sick of her telling me she was going to call the police because of whatever she decided to pissed about that day that I told her not to bother that I would call myself! I did and it surprised the crap out of her when the police knocked on HER door! You could also charge her with threatening you! She doesn't own a sidewalk or a street. As far as the balls going into her yard. You are disturbing her belongings when that happens so she may be able to do something when it comes to right down to it. So stay away from her with your ball playing. Good Luck!!

Ignore her and make sure you don't lose a ball over the fence. Don't even look at her when she starts screaming. It ISN'T worth it.

The street and sidewalk are public domain so she can not tell you to stay off... she can however call the cops if you sit on the sidewalk and stare at her...

I would however be concerned about her releasing the dog on you. Tell your parents and let them handle that.

    1. Don't walk near her house unless you have a good reason.

    2. Don't play ball near her house.

    3. Stay away from the German Shepard!

I wouldn't worry. If you want to have to get a good laugh. When she yells at you just talk politely back to her. She will proboly yell more even though you are being nice. And about the cop thing, she proboly all talk.

let her call the cops just get a friend to record you like walking down the sidewalk and record what she does so if she does call the cops she cant lie

    Source(s): ive tried this before

Be nice to her. Give her some flowers then she might start treating you better. She is just lonely and has a sad life right now. Just try to be her friend and always say hi and smile at her.
