Someone tell me what is wrong with my ipod?

Ok, i have had it for a lil over a month.

Never had problems until now.

I was using it with speakers i have, i unplugged the speakers and went to plug the ipod into my computer so i can charge it.

As soon as i plug it in, the song i was listening to while playing is frozen on the screen. And my itunes said it has been corruped and needs to be restored. how do i restore it.and yes i have held down the center button for 6-10 seconds and the play button, the lock isnt on.

and my itunes keeps ******* up and i have to ctrl alt delete because it always stops responding. i cant return it cause the 30 day warranty is up. is there any way to fix this or should i just take it outside and beat the living hell out of it with a sledge hammer?

Update:

Nevermind. =D

    I have an ipod touch, and it is covered entirely for the first year so I'm not sure where the 30 days comes from. I also purchased the extended warranty for another year because I use it so often.

    Mine has frozen before and I had to plug it in and restore it. It takes a while to restore, depending on how much you have on it, but then it was good as new.

    Definitely give apple a call, and have a look at the troubleshooting section on the apple support page here http://www.apple.com/support/

    Good luck!
