I would love to live in the U.K.,at least for a few years.

My country gained independence from the British empire in 1962.If you visit our capital city today, you can still see the influence the British had on my island when you look at some of the buildings. It's traditional British architecture from that colonial period.

Almost fifty years since our independence from England, both our court system as well as our educational system is still based and modeled on the British. We also drive on the left side of the road!

Growing up,most of the novels I read were by English authors.Such names as Enid Blyton and Anthony Buckeridge come to mind.I grew up hearing all about the Queen and English royalty. My parents lived in England for a few years(before I was born) before returning home, and from them I heard tales and saw pictures of Madame Tussauds,Kew gardens,Buckingham palace and much more.

All of this had a big impact on me as I grew up and I guess because of all of these things,I feel a certain fondness and I venture to say relationship to this country that I have never visited.

The culture and the people fascinates me.I would feel right at home having "High Tea"!

The music from the UK. is amazing. The so called British invasion happened in my time.I love bands like the Beatles and Pink Floyd and would love to live in a country that is steeped in such a rich musical tradition.

The only issue I may be concerned about is the climate.I hear that the winters can be brutally cold, and I am not sure how long I would be able to survive in such conditions, having spent most of my life basking in the warm Caribbean sunshine.I wouldn't mind giving it a go though.

For all of these reasons and more,I would choose to live in England.
