Lots of dancers swim as cross training. You will gain muscle but not bulk up. It tends to elongate your muscles giving you more of a dancers or swimmers body.

your body will become toned. swimming develops muscles most sports don't develop and usually target upper body over lower body. oh and outdoor pools in daylight get you tan really fast
as for the fat, it won't necessarily cause you to lose a lot of it. swimmers are usually in a cold environment and develop a layer of insulation so yes we have a layer of fat. that's not to say you can't have abs and stuff cause i do, it'll just look more healthy.
if you're skin isn't used to chlorine irritation you're might experience some increased breaking out. but that become unnoticeable when your muscles are elongated and toned
definitely recommend swimming to improve figure, but it's a commitment you have to be willing to do some work, just going through the motions will only provide minimal change after initial adjustment to swim workouts

your body will become more streamlined. smaller hips, tighter core, skinnier arms, and firmer legs, but it all depends on what swimming you are doing, and how much you are doing. Swimming grandma style head up breaststroke isnt going to do much, the only way to get a "swimmers" build is to actually swim hard workouts, 5 times a week.

swimming is INCREDIBLE exercise! it will build long lean muscles ( not like body builders), greatly improve cardiac health ( one of the best exercises for that), speed up your metabolism, and help you burn fat all over your body because you use your entire body when you swim. it also helps lung capacity and if you do it outdoors you get a nice tan! ;)
