College Basketballs Home fans yelling AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH?

I am not quite sure where it started (at Duke?), but these days it is so annoying to watch a game while the fans scream AAAAAAHHHHHHHH when the visiting team is on offense. I am a big college baketball fan, but turned off or shut off the sound to many games I wanted to watch this year.

Thank god that this does not happen at many games in the Tournament (although some fans tried today),

I held my college basketball tickets for 20 years at Madison Square Garden and thank god this annoyance never caught on in NYC.

Am I in the minority or do other fans find this annoying?

Update:

I have no problem with cheering for a team, jumping upand down and in general enjoying the experience. What has changed with the AAAAAAHHHHH is that it is not intended as a cheer for the team you support, but an attempt to unnerve the visitors. It does not work. All it does is make the game un-watchable for fans who wish to enjoy a good game,

That isn't smart in any respect. so which you think of Duke purely has it of their funds to pay 9,000 screaming childrens to return to the 17-20 homestead video games each 365 days and scream their bloody heads off? no longer purely might that be an instantaneous NCAA violation, there in no authentic way they'd even organize some thing like that. I certainly have been a lot of faculty basketball video games and that i'm no longer an actor. i'm guessing you're purely announcing this to get a reaction.

At "The IZZONE" In MSU, they yell OOOOOOOOOOOO! I love it. I think you are in the minority and just have to accept that a bunch of drunk students are going to want to scream at their college's game.
