This Hadith is reported by Tabarani. It is the first hadith written in Chapter named 'Ikramul Muslimeen' in 'Muntaqabat ahadees' written by Moulana Yusuf Kandalavi. The contents of the hadith is as follows:-

Hazrath Ibn Abbas (R.A.) said, Rasoolullahi (Peace Be Upon Upon) looked at Ka'ba and said : "La'ilaha Illallah. You are very pure and your smell is very sweet. You are respectable. (However) the status and honour of a believer is more than you. Allahu Ta'la has prohibited the blood, honour and wealth of believer. Allahu Ta'la has also prohibited thinking of bad thoughts about a believer.

No. Prophet Muhammad's(s.a.w) life is an example for all muslims to follow. The Quran teaches us what to do and Prophet acted upon it to show us how we can follow the commands in the Quran. There are some hadith and sunnah that are not authentic but many are. One is not a true Muslim if he only obeys Allah and not the last Prophet. Some things are not given in the Quran but The Prophet did them or said them. He conveyed what Allah told him in his words. So it is vital to follow his practices and saying. Waslaam.
