I was really hesitant to start the book at first because I wasn't sure if I would like it but I'm so glad that I took a chance on it because I thought the book was amazing. I love it.
Okay, this is a review I wrote a while ago:
Wow, this book is amazing! It has everything you could want: lovable and unforgettable characters, strong plot with twists and turns and great writing. I don't remember the last time I loved two characters as much as I love Katsa and Po. Their romance was beautiful and realistic. Katsa is one of the strongest heroines I've read about and Po makes for a great hero.
There was so much character development and the plot was filled with action and adventure. Graceling is one of those books where you make an emotional investment in the characters. I laughed and cried countless times. And I mourned, actually mourned when this book was over! I envy those who have yet to begin this book.
This is the type of book ANYONE could read - boy, girl, teen or adult - and relate to. I only wish that this book was getting more press - it really deserves it!
EDIT: I sort of wish that there was a stronger conclusion with Katsa and Po's situation. I guess we're just going to have to wait until Bitterblue comes out...hopefully it won't take too long.

I loved "Graceling"! I have such a thing for stories like that (female warriors set in a kinda medieval time), and I just HAD to read the book after picking it up. It seriously did not disappoint.
Cashore herself is a really good writer. Her characters are all very well portrayed, and she has such a vivid sense of detail. Her fighting scenes are all written with excitement, and the overall book keeps you on your toes.
I don't regret buying, nor reading it, in the least. Hell, I can honestly say that I could read it again. And gladly, at that.
If you enjoyed that book, I seriously suggest you read "Song of the Lioness" and "Protector of the Small" (Quartets) by Tamora Pierce, "The Icemark" by Stuart Hill, "The Naming" by Allison Croggins, "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins, "Babylonne" by Catherine Jinks "Across the nightingale floor" by Lean Hearn, and "The Seer and the Sword" by Victoria Hanely. <--- These are all really amazing books, that fans of Graceling will most definitely love.
