vectra only runs in limp mode?
1997 vectra Diesel 2.0 i have changed mas it ran slightly better
could it be a thermostat problem or temp sensor as a couple of weeks before it over heated leak on rad now fixed or any other advice would be appreciated

I would recommend you getting a Diagnostic check done before spending any more money on the car. Once you have a fault code it will be much easier to diagnose the problem.
The fault could be caused any any number of things at the moment for example: Sticking Egr valve, Faulty Solenoid switchover valve(common fault) Temperature sensor which can be diagnosed via diagnostics, Coolant control module (common failure due to corrosion of contacts.) Faulty crank sensor, Faulty Egr switchover valve etc.

Sounds like the old favourite with vectras, it could be either the cam belt or the crankshaft sensor they always play up and put the car into get you home mode.
